Diodes announces 2.5Gbps MIPI D‑PHY ReDriver for automotive ADAS systems
Diodes has introduced a new Automotive‑qualified MIPI D‑PHY ReDriver designed to improve signal integrity in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automotive camera applications.
The PI2MEQX2505Q operates at 1.8V and supports data rates of up to 2.5Gbps across four differential data lanes and one clock lane, in line with the MIPI D‑PHY 1.2 specification. It is intended to regenerate D‑PHY signals across PCB traces, connectors and cables, compensating for frequency loss between CSI‑2 or DSI sources and sinks.
According to Diodes, the device’s support for higher data rates enables it to meet the increasing pixel and bandwidth requirements of modern automotive camera monitoring systems, distinguishing it from lower‑speed retimer solutions.
The ReDriver includes programmable receiver equalisation, adjustable output voltage swing and selectable pre‑emphasis levels. These features allow designers to extend trace lengths while managing latency, power consumption and system cost. Configuration can be carried out via an I²C interface or pin‑strap control.
Power efficiency is a key consideration, particularly for battery Electric Vehicles. The device supports ultra‑low‑power and low‑power states, with activity detection enabling automatic power reduction when links are idle.
The PI2MEQX2505Q is supplied in a compact 3.5mm × 5.5mm W‑QFN package. Industrial and commercial variants are also avAIlable in four‑lane and two‑lane configurations.
